pv magazine publishes monthly and quarterly magazines in English and German and operates daily industry news channels covering specific markets (Global, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, USA, Brazil, Mexico, LatAm, China, Australia, and India). We report on developments in the global solar PV and energy storage industries, on solar-related green hydrogen generation and heating systems (heat pumps), and regional solar PV and storage markets. Articles include among other new products and technologies, new policy developments, and markets. pv magazine also has an established and successful international hybrid and virtual events portfolio to deep-dive into key industry topics.
We are looking for
Based in Berlin, pv magazine is looking for a Sales Manager to join our international Sales Team as soon as possible. We seek someone with a strong understanding of the sales process who excels at generating leads, building relationships, and closing deals. 
In this role, your focus will be the international sales of our entire product portfolio, from classic advertising to webinar and event sponsorships. You will work closely with your sales colleagues around the world and will report to our Head of Sales, EMEA. 
Your responsibilities
As a Sales Manager in the International Sales team, you will: 
  • Represent pv magazine with a comprehensive understanding of our offerings. 
  • Generate leads and grow existing relationships with industry partners, maintain an accurate, detailed client book, and develop an active, repeat customer base.  
  • Work alongside the team to draw up strategies to increase our customer base. 
  • Qualify, develop, and maintain thorough company and product knowledge, research customer requirements, and identify how our solutions can address them. 
  • Liaise with pv magazine’s account management, editorial, events, and marketing departments to tailor effective ways for our industry partners to communicate their messages, position their brand with our existing product portfolio, or identify and realize new communication opportunities.  
  • Lead the entire sales process, from initiation to solution development, proposal preparation to successful closing.  
  • Meet planned sales goals and set individual sales targets with the sales team. 
  • Track sales goals and reporting results as necessary. 
Your profile
  • Strong track record in sales.  
  • Excellent customer service skills and strong networking abilities. 
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills (spoken and written).
  • Interest in technical and policy issues. 
  • Ability to think strategically about business and product challenges and develop new solutions.  
  • Substantial degree of diplomacy and the ability to work with a range of people. 
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with a willingness to get things done. 
  • Flexibility with working hours is essential as our client base is international. 
  • Travel flexibility for client appointments and trade shows. 
  • Fluency in English and Spanish (spoken and written). Other languages, such as German, will be viewed favorably. 
  • Experience working with Salesforce or other CRM platforms. 
  • University degree (preferred, but not required).
  • Knowledge of the renewable energy industry, specifically solar PV, will be viewed favorably.
